HAMID HENRY: A
PROFILE
Mr. Hamid Henry is a seasoned
writer, poet, educator and community animator. He
holds a master’s in journalism and has authored/edited several books on
religion and society (10 in Urdu and 8 in English). He is recipient of:

Writers Association, Italy (2021)

Achievement Award in recognition of outstanding intellectual contribution in
people-oriented literature, poetry, journalism, education, community-based
institution building and overall commitment to the community service at large

Mr. Henry, served as Chief Editor, Monthly “Jafakash” (The Worker) and Editor, Quarterly, “Justice & Peace Newsletter” - organs of an erstwhile human rights ecumenical body (Committee for Justice & Peace) based at Karachi. He continues to regularly contribute to various newspapers and magazines. In addition, he has scripted several Christian programs for radio and television.
During his long association with the church and people’s organizations, at the grass root level, he has been instrumental in institution-building and is a co-founder of erstwhile Committee for Justice & Peace and Maktaba-e-Anaveem Pakistan.
Mr. Henry has significantly contributed to the domains of literature, education, public theology, ecumenism, inter-faith dialogue, social justice and community animation through the local Church. He has delivered lectures at various international conferences organized, inter alia, by Christian Communicators Network of World Council of Churches, Christian Conference of Asia, Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences and Asian Lay Leaders Forum, the Philippines.
He attended several international conferences and workshops organized by Mary Knoll School of Theology, USA, Ecumenical Association of Third World Theologians, Indonesia, Brotherhood of Asian Trade Unionists and Apostolic Social Institute, Philippines and Asian Credit Cooperatives Unions, Thailand.
He has been a visiting faculty at Hamdard University, Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants and National Catholic Institute of Theology. Presently, he is associated with Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.
